About us
We Write About Fashion the Way It Should Be Written — Honestly.
No paid promotions. No sponsored opinions. No filler content. Just real fashion guidance from someone who actually understands fabric, fit, and the Indian wardrobe.
The Real Story Behind Libaas Fashions
Libaas Fashions did not start as a business plan or a monetisation strategy. It started as frustration.
When our founder Saroj Yadav was studying Textile Fashion Design and working inside the Indian fashion industry, she kept running into the same problem: the women around her — friends, family, customers — were making expensive wardrobe mistakes that could easily have been avoided. They were buying the wrong fabrics for the wrong climate. They were choosing silhouettes based on what looked good in product photos rather than what would actually work for their body type and daily life. They were spending money on trend-driven pieces that fell apart after three washes.
The information to prevent all of this existed — but it was scattered, technical, or buried behind magazine paywalls that most people could not afford. The free stuff online was either too generic to be useful or written by someone who had never held a bolt of fabric in their life.
So Saroj built the resource she wished had existed. That resource is Libaas Fashions.
What We Believe About Fashion Journalism
The Indian fashion media landscape has a trust problem. Too much of what gets published is either paid for by brands, copy-pasted from international publications without any adaptation for Indian climate and culture, or written by generalists who treat every topic the same regardless of whether they understand it.
We believe fashion writing should work harder than that. It should tell you why a fabric behaves the way it does — not just what it is called. It should explain which silhouette works for your body type in practical terms — not in the vague, feel-good language that avoids offending anyone. It should be honest when a popular trend is genuinely unwearable for most people, instead of cheerfully promoting it because a brand sent a press release.
That is the standard we hold ourselves to at Libaas Fashions. Every single article.
Meet the Person Behind Every Article
Saroj Yadav
Founder & Editor-in-Chief · Libaas Fashions
Diploma & Graduate Degree in Textile Fashion Design | 2+ Years Industry Experience
Saroj Yadav is a fashion writer, textile analyst, and the sole editorial voice behind Libaas Fashions. She holds formal academic qualifications in Textile Fashion Design and spent over two years working directly inside the Indian fashion and textile industry before launching this platform.
Her day-to-day work in the industry gave her direct exposure to fabric sourcing, garment construction, quality grading, and apparel finishing standards. That hands-on knowledge is what separates the content on this site from the average fashion blog — when Saroj writes about GSM ratings, fabric weave structures, or stitching density, she is drawing on practical experience, not Wikipedia.
She writes, researches, and fact-checks every article on this site personally. Nothing goes live without her review.
What You Will Find on This Site
Libaas Fashions covers one subject area: fashion. We do not branch out into lifestyle, food, travel, or anything else. Every article on this site falls into one of these four categories:
Indian Ethnic Wear
In-depth coverage of kurtis, sarees, salwar suits, lehengas, and Anarkalis — with real detail on fabrics, occasion suitability, fit guidance, and budget-smart buying advice. We treat ethnic wear as the sophisticated, technically complex category it actually is.
Fashion Trends
Seasonal trend analysis written for the Indian context. We break down what is actually wearable in Indian climates and lifestyles versus what is purely runway spectacle. Trend coverage that helps you make decisions — not just admire photos.
Fabric Science & Care
Practical, technical guides on fabric types — cotton, rayon, silk blends, muslin, Chanderi, Kota Doria and more. What to look for on care labels. How different weaves behave in Indian summer heat. How to wash and store garments to make them last.
Styling Guides
Body-type specific outfit advice, accessory pairing, colour strategy, and wardrobe planning — written for real budgets and real Indian wardrobes. Practical styling guidance that works in daily life, not just on editorial shoots.
How Every Article Gets Made
We follow a fixed editorial process for every article published on this site — no shortcuts, no exceptions.
Independent Research First
We never build an article around a single source or a press release. Every topic is researched across multiple independent sources — official brand documentation, fabric certification standards, industry publications, and where possible, direct product testing. Claims are cross-referenced before they make it into the article.
Written in Plain Language
We write for the person who wants to understand something, not for search engines or industry insiders. Technical accuracy and plain language are not in conflict — we prove that with every article. If a paragraph does not teach the reader something genuinely useful, it gets cut.
Fact-Checked Before Publishing
Every statistic, product specification, brand claim, and technical detail is verified before the article goes live. If we cannot confirm a claim from a reliable source, we either leave it out or flag it explicitly as unconfirmed. We would rather publish less than publish something inaccurate.
Updated When Information Changes
Fashion and fabric standards evolve. Articles on this site are reviewed and updated when new information becomes available. Every post clearly displays both its original publish date and its most recent update date, so readers always know how current the information is.
Our Commitment to Accuracy and Trust
We take editorial credibility seriously — not as a box-ticking exercise, but because we genuinely believe our readers deserve content they can rely on. Here is how we back that up in practice:
Experience
Our founder has direct, hands-on experience working inside the Indian fashion and textile industry. The fabric knowledge, construction insights, and quality standards referenced in our articles come from that practical background — not from secondary research alone.
Expertise
Formal academic qualifications in Textile Fashion Design provide the technical foundation for every piece we publish. When we make specific claims about fabric construction, thread counts, or garment quality standards, those claims are grounded in verified academic and industry knowledge.
Authoritativeness
All content is written or reviewed by Saroj Yadav and published under her byline. We do not publish anonymous content or articles from unverified contributors. Sources are cited wherever possible, and readers can always identify who wrote what they are reading and why that person is qualified to write it.
Trustworthiness
No paid placements. No sponsored reviews hidden inside editorial content. No affiliate pressure shaping recommendations. What we write reflects what we actually believe, based on what we actually know. Our readers' trust matters more to us than any short-term monetisation opportunity.
We Get Things Wrong Sometimes — and We Fix Them
No publication is perfect. We make mistakes — factual errors, outdated information, unclear explanations. When that happens, we fix the error immediately, update the article, and note the correction transparently.
If you find something on this site that is factually incorrect, outdated, or misleading, please tell us. We read every message and treat every correction seriously. Several of our most-read articles have been improved directly because of reader feedback.
